Principal Architect - AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)

At Hirobe, we live and breathe the Adobe ecosystem. Since 2018, we’ve been the bridge between the world’s most talented Adobe professionals and the organizations that need them most. We’ve been tasked with finding a heavy-hitting Principal Architect to own the AEMaaCS roadmap for a high-traffic, enterprise-scale platform.

This isn't a "sit back and watch" role. We need someone who can own the architecture, drive stability, and act as the ultimate technical authority for a large-scale modernization initiative.

The Role

You’ll be the North Star for our client’s AEM strategy. As the Principal Architect, you will define enterprise-wide standards and lead a vendor team of nearly 20 contributors. This role is about more than just "cloud migration"—it’s about defining what a world-class, cloud-native AEM environment looks like and ensuring it delivers real business value.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Platform Ownership: You’ll drive the stability, scalability, and continuous optimization of the AEMaaCS architecture.

• Setting the Standard: You’ll define the governance models and best practices that keep the entire enterprise aligned with Adobe-recommended patterns.

• Modernization: You’ll oversee component consolidation and framework upgrades, moving the platform toward a leaner, more efficient future.

• Strategic Partnerships: You’ll be the bridge between Adobe product teams, internal engineering leads, and marketing stakeholders.

• Technical Authority: You’ll provide oversight for both front-end experiences (React-based) and back-end scalability (Java/APIs/AWS).

• Communication: You’ll translate complex technical decisions into clear, high-impact stories for senior leadership.

What You Bring

• AEM Mastery: You have 10+ years of software engineering under your belt, with at least 3+ years of hands-on architectural experience specifically within AEM as a Cloud Service.

• Full-Stack Awareness: You’re comfortable discussing React, HTML, and CSS just as easily as you discuss Java, APIs, and cloud integrations.

• Influence: You have a proven ability to lead without formal authority, guiding cross-functional teams and vendor partners toward a shared goal.

• Adobe Ecosystem Knowledge: While AEM is the focus, a solid understanding of the wider Adobe Experience Cloud is a huge plus.

• Scale: You’ve worked on high-traffic, enterprise-level websites where performance and optimization are everything.
